Join our festive team at the Silverton Christmas Market, where we bring the holiday spirit to life! We're seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Retail and Event Assistant to help make our seasonal event a success. This is a unique opportunity to be part of one of the most magical experiences in Oregon, offering a mix of retail, event support, and administrative work in a dynamic environment.

Position Overview:

As a Retail and Event Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all our visitors. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, festive setting and loves working with people. You'll be working part-time from January through October (20-30 hours per week) and full-time during our peak season in November and December (40 hours per week).

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the setup and breakdown of retail and event spaces.
• Manage inventory, restock items, and maintain an organized and visually appealing retail space.
• Support event coordination, including hiring temporary staff, managing contracts for vendors and musicians, and assisting with event logistics.
• Handle basic administrative tasks such as scheduling, communication with vendors, and document management.
• Assist with crowd control, and assist with special activities during the event.
• Program and operate a point-of-sale system efficiently.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for all guests.
• Address and resolve any customer inquiries or issues promptly and professionally.

Qualifications:

• Previous retail, customer service, or event coordination experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with basic administrative tasks such as scheduling and contract management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
