Job Summary As a Scrum Master you will be responsible for monitoring project progress, facilitating team dynamics, and driving the achievement of objectives through effective Scrum practices.
Job Description We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative
Scrum Master to be a proactive leader, passionate about facilitating and guiding teams through the complexities of software development processes using Agile methodologies. Your role will involve monitoring project progress, facilitating team dynamics, and driving the achievement of objectives through effective Scrum practices.
This position is full-time, on-site, contract that is renewed on a semi-annual basis. What You’ll Do - Facilitate team activities, including daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Monitor team performance against sprint goals to ensure project targets are met
- Coach and mentor team members on Agile principles and practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine and manage the product backlog, ensuring clear communication of requirements and priorities
- Encourage a collaborative team environment that promotes shared ownership, transparency, and trust
- Apply various Agile techniques to best suit team needs and project constraints, focusing on delivering value to the client
Required What You’ll Need - Minimum of 7 years in software development delivery, including at least 4 years in a Scrum Master role
- Demonstrated success in growing and maturing teams or leading Agile transformations
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Ability to provide effective coaching on Scrum practices, user story creation, and estimation techniques
- Commitment to embodying Scrum values and principles
- Knowledge of Lean/Agile tools and techniques, with a continuous learning mindset
- Experience leading geographically distributed and remote teams
- Excellent facilitation, conflict resolution, and team empowerment skills.
- Strong communication, mentoring, and servant leadership capabilities
- 3-4 years of direct Agile/Scrum Master experience
- Additional experience in traditional project management methodologies is beneficial
- Scrum Master certification (CSM or equivalent) is highly regarded
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
- Familiarity with a Scaled Agile environment
- Proficiency with Atlassian suite or similar tools
- 2-3 years in traditional project management
Preferred - Advanced knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, and other Agile tools
- Higher-level Scrum Master certifications (PSM II, PSM III, CSP, CTC) are desirable
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous
Physical Demands - Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
- Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
- Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
- Ability to move within the office, travel as needed, and occasionally lift items weighing up to 15 pounds.
