Job Brief
We here at Starlet Academy are looking for a qualified Preschool Teacher Assiatant who can assist the preschool teacher to care for our preschool. Our Preschool Teacher Assiatant must have a great love and patience for children. The main qualifications needed here at Starlet Academy to assist the teacher is to flollow directions well, take the initiative to act independently, the ability to engage the students and earn their trust and attention. The goal at Starlet Academy is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of education.

Duties

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourange participation by children.
Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
Encourage self-help and good hygiene throung behavior modeling.
Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
Follow all center policies and state regulations.
Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Assist the teacher to supervise the children indoors and outdoors as they play with age appropriate toys.
Assist the teacher to put the children down for nap time.
Change diapers as needed adhering proper hygiene protocol.
Assist the teacher in reporting accidents, illness, and unusual behavior of children to the principal, head of the department, and parents.
Ensure play, sleep and changing areas are kept clean/sanitized.

Requirements

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
High energy.
Ability to work well with others.
Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
An understanding of child development.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
CPR and Firts Aid certification.
Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
Ability to speak Spanish and English
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 30+ lbs.
Extended periods of timesitting on the floor
Move as the position requires.
Go up and down stairs
Walk, run, skip, jump, ect.
