Job Description

The goal of this position is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate to the next level of education.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Duties include planning lessons that target specific skills and concepts, managing classroom behavior to keep all students engaged in the lesson, and providing individual support and feedback for their students.
• To develop and maintain a curriculum that is fun and educational for 3-5-year-old children.
• To ensure that the school is fostering an environment that is inviting and nurturing for the children.
• Employ a variety of educational techniques
• Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
• Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
• Track children’s progress and report to parents
• Communicate with parents regularly
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards

Skills

• Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
• Experience with Teaching Strategies Gold and the Creative Curriculum
• Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
