Media X Facilities & Productions Operations Manager Primary Purpose: The Art, Media, Performance, & Design (AMPD) Department utilizes seven buildings on the Stockton Campus which house a ceramics studio, ten classrooms (with five digital media laboratories), a workshop, motion picture studio, two theaters, make-up room, large costume archive, experimental exhibition space, three editing bays, and one sound bay.
Under the supervision of the Media X Director(s) and the Chair of the Department of Art, Media, Performance, and Design, the Facilities & Productions Operations Manager will oversee and maintain facilities, equipment for the department, and coordinate with the University Information Technology office to schedule the maintenance of computer labs. In addition, they will manage the equipment check-out room, oversee production studios, computer labs, reservation schedules, and facilitate events in the Long and Studio (Black Box) Theaters.
Essential Functions: - Oversee operations in the art, production, and design studios, labs, and post-production bays (for example, ensure supplies are stocked, tools and technologies are operational, make repairs as needed.)
- Assist faculty, staff and students how to operate equipment and produce projects in the above facilities.
- Provide Project management support and budget guidance to students and faculty for key internal and external multimedia productions.
- Working with Risk Management, design and implement safety and operational training and track completion and compliance with safety practices in the facilities.
- Coordinate with the University Information Technology office to schedule the maintenance of computer labs.
- Maintain and facilitate repair of equipment.
- Manage all program and department service requests.
- Maintain reservation schedule for department facilities and coordinate with university reservation and calendaring systems.
- Oversee and facilitate equipment inventory and check-out system.
- Establish procedures and document operational workflows for facilities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in film, digital media, educational technology, or related field.
- Two (2) years of experience managing and maintaining facilities.
Preferred Qualifications: - Master's Degree in film, digital media, educational technology, or related field.
- Ability to act independently and creatively with a high degree of initiative.
- Project Management Experience or relevant certifications.
- Two (2) years of experience managing media and production spaces.
- Two (2) years of employment experience in digital media, educational technology or related field.
- Familiarity in Apple and Windows-based computer systems.
- Ability to investigate, recommend hardware and software solutions for multimedia purposes.
- Positive attitude and commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion.

- Experience with information technology.
- Experience in higher education.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Work is performed during standard hours, additional hours may be required to meet business needs or deadlines.
