Job Description

Express Employment is looking for a Preventive Maintenance Mechanic Assistant.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 6am-4:30pm

Pay: $18-$20/hr

Work Location: Oroville, CA

Job Description:

• Refer to equipment manuals for service inspections and troubleshooting instructions.
• Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to identify potential malfunctions.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on all mill equipment to prevent mechanical failures.
• Replace worn-out machine parts to avoid mechanical damage.
• Dismantle machines and equipment using hand tools and power tools to access problem areas.
• Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other issues.
• Remove and replace parts using hand tools and power tools, following blueprints, diagrams, and service manuals.
• Realign and adjust components according to diagrams.
• Locate and repair damaged air hoses or fittings on pipes and machines.
• Collaborate with mill employees to start machines and equipment to test operations after repairs.
• Complete assigned preventive maintenance work orders.
• Perform additional duties as required to support maintenance and mill operations.
• Responsible for compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety Guidelines
• Responsible for compliance to Cal-OSHA and company's Injury Illness Prevention Program, Safety Policies, Procedures, and Programs.

Requirements:

• Skilled in handling and resolving recurring problems effectively.
• Proficient in maintaining and servicing equipment.
• Capable of reading, understanding, and troubleshooting using equipment drawings and technical data.
• Skilled in using a work-issued computer and various software packages
• Understands the functionality and operation of various machines and equipment
• Be able to walk, climb stairs, and bending up to 8 hours a day
• Ability to stand, sit, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, squat, kneel, twist
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Be able to sit, stand, and walk around work area/ warehouse 80% of the time

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Welding Certifications a plus.
• Proficient at fabrication and welding desired.
• Prefer 2 years experience of industrial maintenance and mechanical maintenance.
• Prefer 2 years experience performing maintenance and repairs of mechanical systems in an industrial setting.
