Job Description

We're looking for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join an innovative virtual learning program serving K-12 students in the Asheville area. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' lives while enjoying the flexibility of working from home.

About the Role
As a Special Education Teacher, you will design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of your students. Using virtual tools and platforms, you'll create engaging and effective learning experiences, collaborate with families and fellow educators, and monitor student progress to ensure success in a supportive online environment.

What You'll Do
Develop and deliver specialized instruction through virtual platforms.
Create, maintain, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) for assigned students.
Regularly assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications.
Conduct virtual meetings with families, teachers, and support staff to foster collaboration.
Maintain accurate documentation and special education records.
Participate in professional development to stay updated on best practices and technologies.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
Valid North Carolina teaching certification with a Special Education endorsement.
At least 2 years of classroom teaching experience in special education.
Proficiency with educational technology and virtual learning platforms.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Hands-on experience with IEP development and implementation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching in a virtual or hybrid learning environment.
Familiarity with assistive technology tools.
Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
