This is a remote work position, but candidate may choose to work at ICJIA’s downtown Chicago office during the agency’s regular business hours Monday thru Friday (8:30 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.) pending availability.
This is a full-time position. The selected candidate must work 37.5 hours per week. The selected candidate will start as soon as possible.
This position is TEMPORARY and does NOT include state benefits.

The audit and evaluation team at ICJIA is looking for candidates who have the desire and auditing skill capability to support the efforts of the team's accountability for the development and monitoring of grantmaking (and expenditure) support system in which grantees and ICJIA staff proactively maintain the integrity of public funds. 1. Ability to plan and complete work and prioritize projects to meet deadlines.
2. Strong written and verbal communication skills to establish and maintain rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
3. Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel efficiently.
4. Excellent critical thinking skills with ability to analyze information objectively.
5. Ability to pay close attention to small details that could impact results and adaptable to unforeseen challenges.
6. Experience and general knowledge of business operations, objectives, strategies, processes, and information flow.
7. Accounting and GAAP knowledge.
1. Accounting degree or at least seven years with financial accounting experience.
2. At least two years of experience reviewing supporting documentation for allowability and research relevant grant regulations and guidelines.
3. Requires the ability to work independently with resources for remote work.
4. Requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of auditing principles are critical.

6. Prefers three to five years of experience in bookkeeping/or auditing with general knowledge of business operations, objectives, strategies, processes, and information flow.
7. Prefers at least two years experience with non profit or grant accounting.
1. Must be able to work independently with resources for remote work. This includes having a computer that can accommodate ICJIA-compatible software, telephone, and internet.
2. Must be able to travel to the ICJIA office, if necessary, with advance notice.
3. Must successfully pass a background check.
