Work Location
This position is based in NetApp offices located in San Jose, California, RTP, Noth Carolina, Boulder, Colorado, or Washington, D.C.
What You’ll Do
• Serve as a legal business partner to the US and Canada Sales organizations by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial technology agreements, including SaaS, hardware, software license and services agreements, and data privacy and information security agreements, with customers and partners to enable sales opportunities while also complying with legal requirements and company policies.
• Evaluate risks associated with nonstandard terms, and manage for business approval as necessary.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of standard agreements and legal processes for customer and partner agreements, as well as on projects designed to increase velocity and efficiency, including templates and playbooks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, information security, privacy, sales operations, business unit and product teams to drive customer deals to execution and design scalable processes for implementation.
• This role reports to the Director, North America Field Legal.
Job Requirements
• Minimum 10 years of legal experience, including at least five years in-house experience at a technology company, with considerable experience drafting and negotiating technology contracts with partners and customers.
- Experience negotiating software, hardware and SaaS agreements, as well as data privacy and information security agreements, with customers, distributors and resellers. Experience with vendor transactions in public cloud marketplaces is preferred.
• Ability to provide practical advice through excellent verbal and written communication, drafting and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of US law commercial laws and contract principles.
• Solution-oriented: You bring empathy and understanding to your conversations with customers, seeking to find a path forward that balances company risk and customer needs, and you think creatively beyond the legal terms to generate possible solutions and options for the business.

• Team-oriented, with a good sense of humor and high level of integrity, responsibility and professionalism, along with strong interpersonal and people skills.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is 160,000 - 180,000 and will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
