Job Description

Our client is looking to fill the role of Commercial Roofing Estimator. This position will be in Sunrise, FL.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize bid log to track own bids and total bids closed
• Analyze which bids will benefit the company and which bids will not
• Ensure processes are followed from pre-bid until handoff meeting
• Draft letters to General Contractors, private clients, and other customers
• Solicit feedback from team to develop methods for better quality control
• Be accountable for your own goals, decisions, and bids.
• Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
• Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
• Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
• Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
• Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work
• Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors
• Review material and labor requirements, to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components
• Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project
• Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
• Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures
• Additional responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• 3 years’ experience estimating Commercial Roofing Projects
• HS/GED required. Degree preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Working knowledge of the Edge Software or a digital estimating program
• Must be willing to learn on-line system for bidding process
• Strong knowledgeable of Microsoft Office and Primavera
• Knowledge of business and management principles
• Extensive knowledge of roofing materials, techniques and requirement
