Job Overview


Commercial Marketing Manager, Rate Plan and Capabilities is responsible for the development of new and innovative offers, value propositions and rate plans designed to drive new postpaid account growth and margin at T-Mobile. This role blends strategy and execution by analyzing customer needs and market opportunities, building insight-backed hypotheses and strategic recommendations, creating new value proposition and offer ideas that improve rate plan appeal, building go to market strategies, assessing operational feasibility, handling offer performance, and optimization of ongoing offers/programs to drive customer acquisition. The role requires proficiency in marketing strategy, analytics, identifying industry trends, insights from customer, competitive research, understanding frontline needs, fostering change, cross-functional leadership to move the ball forward and results orientation to drive outcomes.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Support the creation of strategic recommendations on device offers, programs, and lifecycle management to capture increased share of postpaid wireless switchers.
  • Assist in identifying offers and progams that drive rate plan appeal based on business targets, macro environment, seasonal insights, consumer sentiment, competitive landscape, existing and forthcoming T-Mobile value prop levers, and business performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product & Technology, Supply Chain, OEM Management, Finance, Pricing, Integrated Marketing, Analytics, Consumer & Market Insights, Go-to-Market, Retail and Care to develop and bring to market new or optimized programs.
  • Partner with Strategic Planning team to build offer concepts for consumer research.
  • Support the management of multiple priorities in a fast paced and changing environment.

The skills you'll need:

  • Good business writing, negotiation, and project management skills
  • Familiarity with go-to-market process, and offer & promotion launches
  • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize across multiple workstreams, and drive results in a fast-paced environment
  • Business acumen to frame consumer insights into quantifiable business opportunities supported by high-level financial models for funding justification
  • Ability to communicate product and business objectives by integrating information about system capabilities, frontline, and customer experiences to audiences spanning cross-functional organizations & seniority levels
  • Effectiveness in driving complex multi-stakeholder planning process, leading teams to deliver projects with desired business results, while applying judgement to manage business risks and returns in trade-offs
  • Curiosity to explore and understand new technical solutions across multiple systems & platforms, and their implications to frontline and customers experiences
  • A sense of humor, humanity, and team spirit

Education :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field of study; Advanced degree preferred (Required)

Work Experience :

  • 4-7 years Marketing experience in one or more of the following categories: software/hardware, web, telecommunications, consumer electronics, or consumer packaged goods
  • 1 year of professional experience in analytical or technical role with marketing and/or Frontline products/tools/system

  • 4 years of Marketing experience in software/hardware, web, telecommunications, consumer electronics, or consumer packaged goods.

  • Strong communications skills by presentation, written and verbal methods

  • Experience in defining and executing go-to-market strategies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

Base Pay Range: $84,200 - $151,900

Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
