About Isle Royale:
Experience the northwoods at the remote Isle Royale National Park, located in the middle of Lake Superior. Known as the most remote national park, Isle Royale is only accessible by boat or seaplane. The park is home to moose, wolves, loons, beavers, foxes, & birdlife. Lake Superior & the island’s inlands lakes offer excellent fishing & photographic sites for viewing pristine forest & waterways. There are also diving opportunities abound in the many shipwrecks of Lake Superior.

A Bellhop has the primary responsibility of transporting Rock Harbor Lodge quest luggage. Specified cleaning tasks are assigned to the bellhop.

The bellhop picks up guest luggage from all boat and seaplane arrivals, then delivers it to each guestroom or housekeeping unit. Upon guest departure the bellhop gathers the luggage and again delivers it to each boat or the seaplane.

The bellhop is assigned additional routine duties of maintaining cleanliness in the lodge office lobby and work areas, the Guest House lobby, the employee dormitory and hallways, the dining room public restrooms, and the outside of the dining room area. The bellhop is also assigned the duty of replenishing soda machine stocks.

Job Responsibilities

•    Greet and provide customer service to guests while anticipating their needs
•    Book reservations and coordinate registration
•    Operate a register and/or software system to complete cash and credit card transactions
•    Answers phone calls and emails and delivers messages as needed
•    Maintains excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
•    Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager

Qualifications

• A high school education or equivalent is required. 
• Must be able to closely follow the daily sheet of guest arrivals and departures, adhering to a finely timed schedule of distributing guest luggage to either arriving or departing passenger boats, charter seaplane service, private boats, or to guest accommodations.
• Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
• A bellhop is required to operate small gasoline powered tractor, pulling one and at time several luggage trailers. Safe operation of this vehicle, along pathways shared with pedestrian foot traffic, is paramount.
• Bellhops must, above all, serve the guests with a spirit of courtesy, hospitality, and helpfulness. 

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
